STAGE SIX

Jenner to Ft. Ross

Walk from Jenner to Fort Ross along the stunning Sonoma coastline, with sweeping ocean views, rugged cliffs, and the wild beauty of the Pacific at your side.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

What to Wear:

Clothing choices will depend on the weather so please check the weather forecast before you start each stage.  Generally on Stage 6, mornings are cool to cold and afternoons can be warmer.  In the winter, rain coats and hats may be needed.  Layers will be important. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.  A good hat and sunglasses are a must.  

What to Bring 

Bring a daypack, water, snacks, lunch, blister kit, first aid kit, extra socks, hiking poles...

START 

7:50 am

Parking lot at Jenner Visitor Center

Opening Circle begins at 8:00 am.

FINISH 
3:30 pm 

Fort Ross 

Estimated 14 miles and 1500 ft elevation gain/loss, walking poles may be important.  We’ll walk through Jenner Headlands to Russian Gulch then follow Highway 1 to Reef Campground. We arrive at Ft. Ross beach and then head up the hill to the fort. 

CARPOOLING

7:15 am 

Fort Ross Historic Park parking lot

Guides will be here to assist pilgrims in finding carpools back to the beginning of Stage 6.  Park in the Ft. Ross parking lot and meet Guides there.

LUNCH STOP

Vista Point - Sonoma State Beach

Pack a lunch, snack and water and/or beverage(s). No food or water will be available for purchase. 

BATHROOM STOPS

Time: Morning, Lunch & Afternoon

Reef Campground, Ft. Ross Visitor Center

Bathrooms are available at Jenner Visitor Center, Sonoma State Beach Vista Point, Reff Campground and Ft. Ross.
