BUILDING CAPACITY. BUILDING COMMUNITY. BUILDING CAMINO.

75 x 75

YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN OUR FIRST FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM ADAM

As we celebrate our 15 MILLIONTH STEP, and the fact that ONE HUNDRED PILGRIMS HAVE WALKED THE ENTIRE CAMINO since the Camino's inception in 2019, we realize that we have built a community of love and prayer that has exceeded our expectations.

Also, as the waiting lists for pilgrims to step onto our guided path grows, we step into our first fundraiser to support the growth of the Camino de Sonoma while maintaining its integrity, safety, and depth of experience.

We envision the Camino de Sonoma becoming an enduring route for people from all over the world to come experience the power of walking with intention along a spiritually significant, culturally compelling and breathtakingly beautiful path.

We have recommendations here if you'd like to dedicate funds to a specific area of the Camino's needs
We are so humbled by the steps that have been reached in 2023. We mean this literally and figuratively. In 2024, we are hoping to offer:

  • 50+ guided Camino days
  • Expand guide recruitment and training for 5 more guides
  • We are looking to have a camino shuttle
  • The hiring of a dedicated community administration liaison
  • Stage 1-3 accommodations: the development of safe and secure places of respite for pilgrims who are walking multiple stages
  • 20 million healing steps
  • expand the experience of the Camino for another 100 pilgrims to complete
Any amount of support will be received with tremendous grace, and we thank you.

CAPACITY BUILDING

We never expected to grow the Camino to where it is today as fast as we have. And it's all been with volunteer support, which we value tremendously. This includes the guides, the organizers, those who pay for passports, printing, design and website services.

In order for us to maintain our daily operations, we ask our community to invest in creating resiliency not just in our volunteers, and the team to support them. This includes:

  • a dedicated community liaison
  • communications support
  • grant writing support

We envision the Camino de Sonoma becoming an enduring route for people from all over the world to come experience the power of walking with intention along a spiritually significant, culturally compelling and breathtakingly beautiful path. We are committed to stewarding a space that nurtures healing in our lives and in the land, so that divisions can be healed, connections can be made, and purpose can be revealed. We foresee the extraordinary natural beauty of this land and the exceptional hospitality of the people who call it home making the Camino de Sonoma a globally known and desired destination for pilgrimage.
This year, we celebrate over 15 million healing steps, and over 100 pilgrims completing all 6 stages. Our most expansive year yet, we are also celebrating:

  • Guide team recruitment and training: we have two new guides, increasing our capacity for more opportunities for guided walks
  • Expanded and improved guided walk experience
  • The kick-off of developing new resources for non-guided walks

  • Expanded online platform, including walk reservations, group connectivity, and more
  • Organizational development including board development; expanding financial and administrative capacities
  • The beta testing of private group guided walks
  • special to note that we have created a ripple that is moving through the community as we continue to build in logistics
  • and... our first fundraising event.
