About the event

SoulCARE alumi Adam Peacocke and Stephen Morris look forward to guiding this walking retreat through the West County of Sonoma.

The two-day event will begin at Alliance Redwoods conference center to slow down under the redwoods. Adam, Stephen, and other Camino de Sonoma pilgrim guides will share the spirit of pilgrimage and the rejuvination that comes with slowing down by walking.  The evening will include walking as a form of prayer, fellowship, dinner, and the history of the Camino de Sonoma. We'll discuss the archeology and spiritual significance it was and has become for pilgrims.

SoulCARE members and future pilgrims will spend the night in yurts clustered in Alliance Redwood's "Pineknot Village".

On Monday we'll walk!

The group will carpool to downtown Sebastopol where it will be guided on Stage 4 of the Camino de Sonoma. All Trails link for Stage 4 here.

There will be opening prayer and reflections before the first stop at Andy's Market to pick up lunch and hydration needs for along the way.  Camino guides will then take the group through vineyards and farmlands via the town of Graton before traveling into the foothills back towards Alliance Redwoods and Occidental.

This walk is not for beginners, the 14.5miles includes 1,200feet of elevation gain but will have many pauses for prayer, fellowship, and snacks along the way.  Dress in athletic layers and walking poles are encouraged. We'll be on street surface for most of the day.
